OUR CLEAN LABEL STATEMENTS

Cloud & Joy. is committed to the highest level of transparency and standards for our ingredients and labeling. The organic ingredients we use meet our rigorous requirements that include not including chemical additives that are even allowed under the USDA Organic standard. All our ingredients are non-GMO and traceable, including ingredients certified by the Non-GMO Verification Project. We are also OU Dairy Kosher certified. Below are certificates and information on our included ingredients:

Kosher Certification

The product is certified Kosher Dairy by the Orthodox Union — a leading kosher certification body — and bears the mark on the package. This indicates all ingredients are kosher or kosher parve and the facility meets the standards for kosher certification.

Organic Certifications (All Flavors)

The following are our ingredients contained in all our products that are certified as organic, which constitute over 77%-80% of our product’s mass not including water. Items like salt, spirulina and hickory are not considered organic due to being either (a) non-biological (such as salt, which is a mineral) or (b) wild harvested/not cultivated and therefore ‘organic’ is not applicable, as this designation specifically refers to cultivation methods.

Non-GMO Ingredients

All ingredients are Non-GMO and have accompanying non-GMO statements on file with verification that they contain no components derived from genetically modified organisms as defined by the EC regulations 1830/2003/EC on labeling and traceability along with 1829/2003/EC. All organic ingredients also are required to be non-GMO. The following ingredients are specifically certified by the Non-GMO Verification Project: Tapioca Flour, Inulin Agave Fiber, Honey

Vegetable Glycerin, Tree Nuts, Hickory

The following are ingredients which have not been specifically certified organic: Vegetable Glycerin, Pecans, Hazelnuts, Hickory Liquid Smoke, Spirulina, Salt

Vegetable Glycerin Statement: Cloud & Joy made the decision to not include the organic certified version of vegetable glycerin as the organic variation is derived from soy which is an allergen and contradicts our “soy free” commitment. Instead, we opted for sustainably-grown palm based glycerin which we feel Ironically is the best choice to support our mission.

Hickory Smoke & Spirulina: Our hickory smoke is derived from natural hickory wood, which is a non-cultivated (farmed) product, and thus not eligible for organic certification. However, it non-GMO as defined by the EC regulations 1830/2003/EC and Cloud & Joy has a statement on file as the trees do not have GMO cultivars. Spirulina is likewise a non-cultivated product as it is a product of oceanic harvesting are not subject to organic certification.

*Salt is a non-biological mineral substance, and thus does not qualify for organic certification as this is non-applicable (products that claim ‘organic salt’ do not have a basis)

Tree Nuts: Our tree-nuts are derived from a small artisan company that, while engaging in natural practices, does not have Organic certification. However, we believe in supporting small producers where possible and have made the decision to use their products.
